Description
Douglas Fir is a medium density softwood, easier to ignite than gum and longer burning than pine – it is also water resistant meaning it doesn’t soak up water like pine. It is easy to split (great for kindling) but it also tends to spark and pop – for this reason it is not recommended for use in an open fire. Sold by the cubic meter.
Please note – This wood is seasoned, but rain wet and therefore not completely dry. It requires more time to dry out and needs to be stored in a well ventilated area. This has been processed from packets of milled timber and is untreated. (If you require dry wood to burn immediately, please select something from our kiln dried products.)
Storage – MUST be stored somewhere with good airflow such as open carport or woodshed – do not store inside a closed off shed or garage. Think of somewhere you would store clothes to dry out.
Only 80 cube available*
